Packaging Engineer - Hardlines & Furniture Test Rite (Vietnam) CO., Ltd

Job Summary:
You will also be responsible for ensuring that packaging material comply with all requirements, regulations, as well as conducting tests to ensure that the packaging can withstand the stresses of transportation and storage.
Design and develop packaging solutions that are safe, functional, and cost- effective. This includes conducting research, designing prototypes, and working with cross- functional teams to ensure that the packaging meets the needs of the product and the consumer.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Understanding of printing processes, application techniques, treatments, and material specifications
• Effectively manage competing priorities, meet production deadlines, and maintain status of projects.
• Design, test packaging prototypes, and conduct packaging performance tests.
• Capability to identify and provide rationale for packaging improvement and investment needs that deliver value to the business.
• Develop packaging that meet performance, compliance, and testing requirements with thought to space and to maximize product shipment efficiencies.
• Work collaboratively with cross functional partners, vendors, and production facilities to ensure packaging meets required visual form, fit, and function.
• Troubleshoot existing packaging concerns related to design, cost, timelines, and material while providing creative solutions and identify areas for improvement in packaging.
• Aid in sustainability efforts for greater company initiatives
• Knowledge and awareness of market trends, processes, and industry standards

• In depth knowledge and experience in designing, testing and validating packaging.
• Good English ability
• Excellent follow- up and organizational skills with the ability to multi- task. Ability to work independently with little direction.
• Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross- functional teams.
• Project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines and budgets.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance processes.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in related role in hardlines (in furniture is a plus)
• Analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
• College or Bachelor degree (A degree in Packaging Engineering or a related field is a plus)
• Creativity, including the ability to develop innovative packaging solutions.
• Proficiency in CAD software
