We are seeking a talented and experienced Pattern Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of garment construction. As a Pattern Maker, you will be responsible for creating and modifying patterns for clothing and accessories according to design specifications.
Responsibilities:
· Develop patterns for garments and accessories based on design sketches or specifications.
· Collaborate with designers, sample makers, and production team to ensure patterns meet design and fit requirements.
· Conduct fittings and provide feedback on fit and construction.
· Make pattern adjustments as needed for fit, style, and production feasibility.
· Interpret technical drawings and samples to create accurate patterns.
· Maintain organized pattern libraries and records.
· Keep up- to- date with industry trends and techniques in pattern- making and garment construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Pattern Development:
Develop precise patterns for a variety of clothing items and accessories, including but not limited to tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, and bags. Utilize pattern- making software and traditional techniques to create initial patterns from design sketches and adjust patterns as needed based on fit and design requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with designers and other members of the product development team to translate design concepts into viable patterns. Collaborate with sample makers and production team members to ensure that patterns are optimized for manufacturing processes and maintain design integrity.
Fit Evaluation:
Conduct thorough fittings with sample garments to assess fit, silhouette, and overall construction. Provide constructive feedback on fit issues and work proactively to resolve any fit challenges, making necessary pattern adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
Pattern Grading:
Utilize grading principles to scale patterns up or down in size while maintaining proper proportions and fit consistency across different sizes. Ensure that graded patterns meet industry standards and specifications for sizing and fit.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare detailed technical specifications and documentation for each pattern, including seam allowances, grain lines, notches, and other relevant information. Maintain accurate records of pattern iterations and revisions for future reference.
Quality Control:
Conduct thorough quality checks on patterns to identify and correct any errors or discrepancies. Ensure that patterns adhere to company standards for fit, construction, and overall quality, and make necessary adjustments as needed.
Research and Development:
Stay informed about the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in pattern- making and garment construction. Research new materials, tools, and technologies that may enhance the pattern- making process or improve the quality of finished products.
