Performance Engineer (Renewable Energy)Urgent job Sembcorp Energy Vietnam Co., Ltd

Candidate will be responsible for the delivery of solar energy yield assessment simulation and operational data analytics to support asset managers, developers, and financiers for residential, commercial, and utility scale PV systems.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create reusable analyses using advanced analytical tools like Python that are tested and repeatable.
• Work across all scales of solar including commercial and industrial, and utility- scale.
• Write technical reports and communicate results to stakeholders both internal and external.
• Support on- going energy assessment validation cycle by researching additional loss factors and create process to implement in energy assessment.
• Research the latest PV solar production technology and develop new methods to improve energy assessments as well as reduce measurement uncertainty.
• Collaborate with colleagues both at Sembcorp and at other academic and government institutions to present new methods to improve energy yield assessments for solar and storage.
• Conduct site inspection and familiar with PV measurement equipment.
• Analyze weather station data (irradiance, ambient temperature, etc.) and solar plant operational SCADA performance data.
• Project management skills require.
• Able to understand long- term solar resource and energy yield production assessments reports.
• Develop insights from aggregated operation databases to feed back into energy yield assessments simulation.
• On- site suppervision for O&M activities align with Group HSSE requirement.
MAJOR CHALLENGES:
• Familiarity with solar energy project execution and finance preferred.
• Understanding of renewable energy industry measurement techniques and standards preferred
KEY DECISIONS & DIMENSIONS:
• Willingness and ability to travel, up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to streamline process by implementation of process improvement techniques
• Ability to write technical commercial reports and correspondence to verbally convey information in a clear and concise manner in English and Vietnamese.
• Skill to manage multiple projects at a time and to approach tasks with a goal- oriented mindset which requires both technical rigor and commercial acumen. Preferred candidates will have a high curiosity and desire to learn.

• 4+ years of experience, experience in solar resource assessment or solar energy modeling.
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering such as Renewable Energy Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, or quantitative field. Master’s degree preferred.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:
• Strong desire to use Python programming, Python data science packages (e.g., NumPy and pandas), and version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
• Adaptability and Fast- Paced Work Environment: Possesses the ability to thrive in a fast- paced work environment, showcasing flexibility and a keen willingness to learn and adapt as needed.
• Team Collaboration: Exhibits the ability to contribute effectively as a team member, emphasizing group achievement over individual success.
• Experience in uncertainty and statistical data analysis
• Comprehensive understanding of fundamental solar modeling principles, including familiarity with PVSyst, or SolarFarmer.
• Proficiency working with data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, Excel, etc.)
• Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Vietnamese languages, with strong communication skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
