RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cost estimation:
works closely with Sales, R&D, Operations, and others to understand sales opportunities and customer needs to advise on most relevant solutions to drive profitable growth and optimized asset utilization.
develops accurate, timely and reliable product cost estimation accounting for specifications, raw materials, and operational costs.
Tender management and pricing support:
develops recommended prices based on opportunity information, competitive nature, costing, internal guidance, and profitability requirements.
partners with the Sales owner, Commercial Excellence team, and others to offer recommendations for optimized execution of bids/tenders/RFQs through understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics, evaluation of risks.
supports Sales owners on the calculation of due price adjustments in timely and consistent manner.
analyzes scope, requirements and terms of tender documents and supports Sales owner in summarizing and identifying areas to minimize risk in contractual conditions to ensure the company’s sustainable profitability.
Costing methodology, capabilities, automation, and analytics:
ensures proper collection and maintenance of relevant data required for cost estimation accuracy.
collaborates with Operations, Finance, IT to ensure continued accuracy and reliability of cost estimation methodologies and practices.
works with Operations to share product cost estimations along with inputs and assumptions to ensure actual manufacturing and costs are in line.
performs comparative analyses of pre- and post- costing to understand drivers for gaps, and collaborates with relevant stakeholders to close the gaps.
improves cost and pricing capabilities using costing and pricing methodologies and tools to improve data- driven decision- making as well as increasing automation and improvement in existing tools.
learns and simulates cost structures of competing suppliers to advise stakeholders on winning prices, best- fitting specs and other options.
Profit improvement:
contributes to the collaboration with R&D, Sourcing, Operations, Finance, IT, and others to identify and drive cost and profit improvement opportunities.
performs analyses to identify profit leakages and works with Commercial Excellence, Operations, Sales and other stakeholders to close profit leakages.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Marketing or other relevant degree
Proven experience in cost estimation and understanding of manufacturing processes
Must be self- directed, self- motivated and a self- starter
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with all levels within a complex organization
Strong analytical mindset and skills; experience building sophisticated model and advanced Excel skills required
Experience in flexible packaging and/or pricing is highly preferred
5+ years of overall business experience with a min 3 years’ experience in costing, cost estimation, finance, controllership, pricing, sales or manufacturing operations
Minimal travel may be required (up to 15%)
