OB SUMMARY
The Process Engineer follows lean manufacturing techniques to provide engineering support and develop robust manufacturing processes. Has a primary role in the engineering of new, modified and/or existing manufacturing operations.
DUTIES
, Responsibilities, And Authorities
· Ensure the coordinated support of all daily, weekly, process and administrative checks. To ensure engineering activities and support day to day operations in the manufacturing area/s.
· Understand equipment use and limitations, work with Engineering and Maintenance to improve.
· To ensure that all process engineering activities are handled professionally and effectively.
Coordinate the Identification of poor production mold, raise awareness to production support, ensure that investigations are thorough and mold demands are submitted for replacements/preparing.
· Assist in all quality deviations identified, initiate immediate action plans, monitor output, trial and implement initial and or long- term fixes and changes.
· To ensure all processes are aligned with an emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
· Develops and documents standard operating procedures (SOP) and trains manufacturing personnel on SOPs
· Coordinate with the Maintenance and Engineering Manager on any EH&S, or equipment issues.
· Provide support for cross functional teams on customer returns to investigate, trial and implement initial and or long- term fixes and changes. Uses standard problem- solving tools, e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone.
· Coordinate and support New Product Introduction, to assist in the trialing of sample production and process evaluation.
· Responsible for the completion of the design and development of optimal, cost- effective, and reliable manufacturing processes.
· To be a key team member for implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing techniques in project fulfilment and Kaizen activities.
· Performs DOEs, and participates in the development of control plans, Process Maps, and PFMEA documentation.
· Analyses new product specifications and translates these into manufacturing processes to achieve expected quality levels and establish the reliability of the finished product.
