Product Safety Engineer

OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE
- To ensure Product Usability, Reliability and Safety meet regulatory requirements and overall Market Quality Targets and Customer Satisfaction. Product safety engineers develop and conduct tests to evaluate product safety levels, and recommend measures to reduce or eliminate hazards. They also recommend procedures for detection, prevention, and elimination of physical, chemical, or other product hazards.
PRINCIPAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To warrantee all Factory and Products meet Safety Compliance and legal requirement, according to the Country of destination.
To develop the total Product Safety strategy of the Plant, and execute actions plans through QA, Engineering and production staff. Consent strategy with Country regulations, Customer and the Factory staff, in order to achieve Safety Factory and Product Certifications by each Country, as well as by the Customer.
To submit Product Safety applications to the destination country, as Customer required. Submit all necessary documents end evidences.
To prepare the factory keeping all evidences to proof the compliance.
To ensure al Product Safety Certificates are valid (not expired), according to each destination Country regulations.
To address any corrective action issued from the External Audits until closure.
To coordinate the Factory Audits to Product Safety System and Products Audits by external Safety companies,
To take the leadership and coordinate any Product safety issue in the Plant, escalate according to the ISO procedures and rules. To make the Final Judgment for product Safety problems.
To make a detail investigation of any Safety Customer complaint. And report accordingly
To train the QA staff as well as pertinent persons and teams in the Factory about Product Safety concepts and Procedures. To promote a Product Safety awareness culture at the Plant through the continuous training program.
To perform Product Safety testing as required by Customer and Safety Agencies, through the Sampling plans and designated Departments in the Plant. (ex. Hi-Pot 100% by production). Including the Test for New Models introduction as well as mass-production.
To periodically report to Customer the Product Safety status and activity.
To develop and implement process audits and safety critical components audits program with the inspection staff in order to comply with the CCL. (Critical Components List)
To review all Customer requirements for product Safety (such ICCS, etc.), as well as Destination country regulations and Safety requirements. Based on that, to create the critical component List (CCL) for the Factory.
To make any technical approval for changes that may affect Product Safety, and participate in the New Parts approval.
To provide Technical Judgment for New Model introduction stages (Pre-production, Mass-production, Shipping confirmation), based on the Product safety testing and compliance for each individual model.

Office (Word, Excel, Minitab and Power Point), Intranet Web sites.
Experience in Customer and Safety Country regulations Monitoring, Safety Application and updates.
Familiarized with Safety Critical components.
Detail Knowledge of Product Safety Concepts, aspects and impacts. Knowledge of Product Safety Countries regulations / Standards.
5 years of experience in the Product Safety, for LCD TV or consumer electronic products manufacturing. Process and product audits, Factory Audits by external 3rd Parties. Finished Goods evaluation and Testing, Problem solving Tools (8D&039;s, CE-chart, 5W&039;s, KT, etc.). FMEA, Industrial Statistics, SPC.
EDUCATION: Electric Engineer or Equivalent
Detail Knowledge and understanding of Product Safety Testing and requirements (Power consumption, Leakage Current, Hipot, Insulation Resistance, Ground Resistance, EMC, EMI, conducted Line, radiated Line, Product stability tests, sharp edge, etc.
Analysis, planning and Decision-Making skills.
Coordination, communication, leadership, teamwork development, supervision skills and negotiations skills with Customer.
Knowledge of Standards: CISPR 32, EN55032:2015, EN55035:2017, EN55020:2007, A11: 2020,
English 80% written and spoken. 100% Vietnamese language.
