Production Development Manager (Printing & Packaging)

Position Overview
The Production Development Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the end- to- end production development process for printing and packaging products. This role requires strong technical knowledge of printing, packaging materials, and production processes to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. The Manager will work closely with global teams, suppliers, and internal departments to drive product innovation, process improvements, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Work with local and overseas suppliers to source materials, negotiate costs, and monitor performance.
Monitor production processes, capacity planning, and compliance with Trimco’s global standards.
Oversee sample development, testing, and approvals to ensure quality standards.
Manage project timelines, milestones, risk assessment, resource allocation.
Translate market needs, customer input, and competitive intelligence into product concepts.
Provide regular reports to senior management and regional HQ on project status, supplier performance, and key KPIs.
Lead and manage the product development process for printing and packaging categories.
Train and guide the production development team to strengthen technical knowledge and operational performance.
Ensure smooth transition from product development to bulk production, solving any issues that may arise.
Maintain updated product libraries, technical documents, and specifications.
Analyze costs, quality, testing and lead time to propose improvements and efficiency gains.
Collaborate with R&D, Sales, and Customer Service teams to develop innovative and cost- effective printing and packaging solutions.

Requirements

Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and familiarity with product lifecycle management tools.
Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
Strong technical knowledge of printing techniques (offset, flexo, digital, thermal, screen, etc.) and packaging processes.
Good knowledge of quality standards, compliance, and sustainability requirements in packaging.
Excellent project management, problem- solving, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to manage product costing, supplier negotiation, and vendor development.
Minimum 7 years of experience in production development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role (preferably in printing, labels, or packaging industry).
Bachelor’s degree in Printing Technology, Packaging, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
