Position Purpose: Production Supervisor is responsible for safely leading and managing all aspects of production, within the Bemis Vietnam manufacturing facility, to achieve strategic and financial initiatives. Sets a high standard for safety and quality by promoting them daily with our manufacturing team. Actively participate in and promote continuous improvement every day within our facility. Ensures on- time delivery of quality products to our customers. Trains, mentors and leads operating team members down a path that improves the company year over year. Will be responsible for the design, construction, and operation oversite for new and existing equipment, facility, resource moves and set up of new Vietnam operation.
Have great communication daily with the manufacturing team, other functions and the rest of the company.
Support Lean initiatives and be an active member on all Gemba walks and kaizen improvement projects in your areas. Make sure sustainment happens for all kaizens implemented.
Responsible for building and strengthening this team into a group of continuous improvement thinkers, that moves our culture in the direction of continuous improvement every day.
Set up machines to ensure proper working order
Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
Conduct regular performance evaluations of shift team members as part of the performance review process.
Provide mentoring, training and technical development for all shift operations personnel.
Assign job duties to shift personnel at the start of the shift to meet business objectives.
Investigate near miss reports and take required actions to get issue resolved.
Collaborate with other functional areas to ensure processes are efficient, robust, scalable and repeatable.
Assist in the selection, buildout, relocation, and setup of new Vietnam production facility.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment every day by educating and directing shift personnel on the use of equipment, resources, procedures and policies.
Point person for all safety accidents or issues occurring, reported or found in operations during shift. Getting help for any injured employee, isolating any risks found or reported through near miss reporting and completing accident investigation report if necessary.
Work with design team and outside vendors on the development of new equipment.
Interface with all other functional teams to help facilitate operations continuous improvement.
Maintain and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
Responsible for hire temporary employees through manpower company.
Challenge and motivate the manufacturing team to facilitate employee engagement and retention.
