Quality Engineer (QE)

Office base: Hanoi, Vietnam
Reporting relationship: Report to: Engineering and PI Manager
Dimensions: Responsible for quality management on specific product categories, process improvement and supplier relations; evaluate packaging and quality performance; ensure correct materials, suitable production process and appropriate testing method are applied; ensure products fulfill customer expectation and meet Hallmark quality requirements.
Job Purpose: Report to Engineering and PI Manager and provide engineering and quality support to 3D Engineering/PI team.
Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Measures:
1. Coach supplier on vendor guidelines which including Gifts & Ornaments procedures & quality requirements.
2. Conduct Engineering Pilot (EP) & Production Pilot (PP) to prevent potential quality issues.
3. Assess new supplier capability whether qualified to meet Hallmark requirement.
4. Follow up the product schedule & work with the supplier on PP, Functional and Reliability (FR) & Safety and Regulatory (SR) testing arrangement. Resolve problem until the product meet HMK quality requirement.
5. In production stage, conduct production review on key items / high attention item, and get all production problems resolved before mass production.
6. Engage with Engineering & Inspection team to follow high attention process properly. Support and conduct inspection for finished goods if needed.
7. Frequent travel to offices and factories in VN. Potential for travel to other South-East Asia countries.
8. Ensure all products procure conform to customer requirements and all products at retail are free of quality issues.
9. Support supplier development and CQS program for those suppliers located in VN.
10. Other tasks that assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. Education: College degree or above, major in industry, science or Mechanical/Production / Electronic engineering
2. Computer skills – Micro Office, Outlook
3. Language – Capable of communication in both English and Vietnamese
(speaking and writing) is essential
4. Experience: at least 2 years of quality and engineering working experience in Gifts, Toys industry
