Raw Materials Buyer (Fixed-term contract)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail- oriented individual to support AI and automation initiatives within the Procurement Department. This role will also be responsible for managing procurement parameters, maintaining vendor communications, and optimizing purchasing processes through data- driven solutions and automation tools.

Manage AI and automation- related projects within the Procurement Department to improve process efficiency and accuracy.
Analyze inventory levels to maintain optimal stock while avoiding accumulation of slow- moving or obsolete items.
Gain a basic technical understanding of managed products, including:Familiarity with test requirements and testing methods.Maintaining technical documentation and master samples.Understanding basic production processes.
Track and manage the progress of ongoing new programs to ensure timely implementation.
Maintain and update purchasing parameters in AS400 system to ensure data integrity and operational alignment.
Execute purchase orders with vendors, including order placement, expediting, deferring, and cancellations.
Manage vendor communication and relationships, including:Daily order follow- ups and delivery confirmations.Weekly forecasting updates.Monthly/periodic performance reviews to identify strengths, weaknesses, and action plans.Annual/periodic volume and value reviews to establish pricing targets.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Department Head.

Education:
- Apics certification preferred.
- A four- year university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Experience: Experience in AI, automation, or ERP systems (especially AS400) is a strong advantage. (Applicants who do not have much experience in purchasing will be provided with further training).3. Knowledge of Product and process knowledge.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be proficient in MS Office and familiar with automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Python scripts, or AI- based platforms) is a plus.
- Reporting skill & Data sensitiveness: PowerBI, Query, SQL, VBA, Python.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem- solving skills; ability to work with data to drive decisions.
- Detail- oriented with a proactive mindset.
Preferred Skills:

Ability to work independently and as part of a cross- functional team.
Knowledge of procurement KPIs and vendor performance evaluation techniques.
Experience in implementing or supporting AI/digital transformation projects in a supply chain or procurement setting.
