Senior Backend Developer (Big Data)

Responsibilities:

Design and implement data processing pipelines, ETL workflows, and analytics solutions using Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and related frameworks.
Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring efficient data processing and minimal latency.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable backend systems for Big Data projects.
Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in Big Data technologies, best practices, and industry standards, and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Collaborate with cross- functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, and product managers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Qualifications:

Hands- on experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or similar distributed computing platforms.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross- functional team environment.
Bachelor&039;s or Master&039;s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in backend development (e.g., NodeJS, Python,Java, Scala).
5+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on backend development.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, and familiarity with deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.
Excellent problem- solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose practical solutions.
Proven experience working on Big Data projects, including designing and implementing data processing pipelines, ETL workflows, and analytics solutions.
Solid understanding of database systems, SQL, and NoSQL databases, with experience in designing and optimizing data storage and retrieval mechanisms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts, and experience integrating machine learning models into backend systems.
Certifications in Big Data technologies or related areas are a plus.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Contributions to open- source projects or active participation in relevant technical communities.
