JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Bioinformatician will conduct advanced analysis and help monitor and troubleshoot bioinformatics analysis at Pacific Informatics. They include, but are not limited to, execution of and troubleshooting existing bioinformatics pipelines to analyze multi- omics datasets, fulfilling analytical and technical requests from customers, and contributing to the development of bioinformatics pipelines and applications. The Senior Bioinformatician may also be a point of contact between PI and a services team in the USA.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Troubleshoot and document failures and errors of existing bioinformatics pipelines.
 Technical support for applying and spinning up PI’s business service in the Vietnam and South- East- Asian market.
 Serve as a point of contact between PI and the USA teams where requested.
 Where requested, ensure all bioinformatics tasks are executed and finished by team members, and reports are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
 Communicate with outside scientists and/or customers to understand their various bioinformatics requirements and needs.
 Contribute to the enhancement or new development of bioinformatics pipelines, software, and/or websites in collaboration with outside scientists, when needed.
 Carry out simple bioinformatics analyses to satisfy customer requests.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
 Fluent in English.
 Clear and concise oral and written communications, in the context of biological research.
 Extensive experience in bio- computational programming, scripting, querying or statistical analysis languages such as python or R, as well as Linux OS for high performance computing.
 Hands- on experience in the analysis of large next generation sequencing and/or microarray datasets.
 Hands- on experience on working with various public and proprietary data repositories, such as TCGA, GTEx, dbSNP, Ensembl, UCSC genome browser, etc.
 PhD or master’s in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Biological sciences, Cancer biology, Genetics, Genomics, Computer science, or a related discipline with a strong record of publications/patents.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
 Experience with training others on bioinformatics skills.
 Familiarity with Amazon Web Services EC2 and S3.
 Experience with development of bioinformatics pipelines, especially with any workflow languages or packages, such as Snakemake or Nextflow.
 Biological research experience.
