The Role
The
Southeast Asia Business Exchange
(SEABX) initiative was announced by the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese at the ASEAN Indo- Pacific Forum in Jakarta on 6 September as part of Australia’s
Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040
. The strategy, developed by Special Envoy for Southeast Asia, Mr Nicholas Moore AO, sets out a practical pathway to increase Australia’s two- way trade and investment with Southeast Asia.
As Part Of The SEABX Program, Austrade Is Looking For An Experienced Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) To Join The Team In Vietnam. The SEABX SBDM Will Work With Colleagues In Vietnam, Australia, And Across The Region To
SEABX will help Australian businesses amplify their trade growth in the region.
Work with the team in Australia to connect with the Southeast Asian business community in Australia.
Perform and coordinate aftercare services for participants in business missions in collaboration with our regional network.
Develop and maintain relationships with industry bodies, business councils, and chambers.
Lead or support large, impactful trade missions to Vietnam and work with teams in Australia to recruit suitable Australian businesses.
Drive awareness amongst Australian businesses of the opportunities in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Duties include
Implement SEABX strategies in Vietnam across priority sectors by developing and managing relevant initiatives including missions and business- matching activities.
Working as part of a sector team, specific responsibility for assisting Australian businesses in the agrifood and consumer sectors (and their related technologies).
Work collaboratively within the Austrade network to contribute to service delivery and achieve trade and investment outcomes and uphold the Australian Public Service (APS) Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct and Work Health & Safety (WHS) principles.
Undertake market research and analysis to identify market trends for existing and emerging business opportunities for Australian companies across industry sectors.
Deliver high quality and professional services to eligible Australian businesses including Austrade’s market- specific advice, connection, and support services.
Establishing and maintaining partnerships with Australian and Vietnamese businesses and other stakeholders.

Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
Work Authorisation- to be eligible for employment with Austrade in Vietnam, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in Vietnam at the time of appointment.
Security Clearance- the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the role.
Language- the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English.
