About the role
SMG Real Estate (a business unit of SMG Swiss Marketplace Group AG) is running the top 2 leading digital real estate classifieds platforms in Switzerland. We empower everyone to make the best decisions in Swiss real estate and bring commercial real estate agencies, owners and potential tenants and buyers together.
We count more than 15 million visits from people who use our portal and have more than 100 million page views per month.
The Platform Team at SMG Real Estate is responsible for SRE both as a discipline across Engineering and by owning the infrastructure on top of which our external facing products are built, in addition to, together with our Developer Experience team, provide and support the platform other engineering teams use to develop, deploy and operate their systems.
What you will do
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our observability capabilities and maintaining high reliability standards.
Main Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining an observability stack that product- focused teams can easily integrate into their services.
Leading educational efforts to improve use of tools like Datadog.
Facilitating efficient incident management and disaster recovery processes, from initial response to postmortem analysis.
Defining observability standards and propose best practices for distributed tracing, monitoring and logging within a serverless ecosystem.
Manage on- call rotations and improve communication during incidents, both internally and externally.
Supporting engineering teams in defining and monitoring Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs), ensuring both technical and business metrics are captured.
Driving initiatives in resiliency and reliability, including chaos engineering, to proactively address potential service disruptions before they impact users.
