Senior Material Planning Operations Specialist

JOB PURPOSES:
The Senior MPO Specialist must ensure the availability of raw materials and merchandise to meet the production schedule short-term and long-term; buy in the right quantity and quality, and in the most cost-effective way for the company, while ensuring inventory efficiency; and is able to purchase raw materials and merchandise within the P + F Company from a remote location and maintains a strong relationship with internal colleagues and external suppliers.
THESE TASKS AWAIT YOU:
- Track and maintain proper levels of stocked inventory within approved guidelines and defined KPI
- Coordinate engineering changes with production, R&D, and vendors
- Derive and execute control plan to bring supplier’s rating to an acceptable level
- Lead main project / sub-project which is given by superior
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers
- Work with the material quality department and follow up on the critical issues to ensure that the material supply can resume with minimal impact to supply chain planning and production
- Minimize obsolete stock to reduce scrap cost
- Planning of purchased and distribution orders with a planning system in consideration of the upstream and downstream requirements
- Assure that the purchased raw material and merchandise will meet the requirements of the contract as well as government specifications.
- Ensure that all materials are planned and received on time. Follow up on all purchase orders to ensure that scheduled delivery dates are met
- Follow up on claim related to discrepancy in price, quantity & quality
- Prepare and report planning relevant KPIs – SFM participation incl. escalation (handling of escalation cases, etc.)
- Issue Purchase Orders and verify that the vendors have received them and do confirmation
- Review and manage material scrap activities
- Monitor and address supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality and reliability, among others
- Review shelf-life constraints or solderability requirement commodities to ensure availability
- Determine and analyze the demand in terms of the right quantity, quality and time while taking action and collaborating with supply chain planning to minimize the impact on the production schedule and customer
- Ensure process adherence and use of best practices by executing the documented operational procedures
- Performing search (RFQ) from open market with approved vendor list and put up justification for any premium buy or change of mode of transport request.
- Update & maintain parameters in ERP system according to planning concept
- Responsible for investigating and reporting on process and technology exceptions to drive towards efficiency and effectiveness, as part of the continuous improvement process
- Provide necessary training and advise Material Planning Operations Specialist B/A on daily handling and operational matters and process improvement within ERP modules and other legacy systems

- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in supply chain management/material planning/purchasing in the manufacturing industry (electronic industry is an advantage)
- Familiar with systems (SAP, ERP, etc.), good computer skills with Excel, Access...
- Soft skills: Planning, negotiation, communication, writing business emails
- It’s good to have experience in leading a project + training people + improving process/systems
- Must be highly ethical and demonstrate mutual respect
- Able to recommend a course of action after gathering relevant information, analyzing data, generating ideas, and evaluating alternatives
- A Bachelor&039;s or Master&039;s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Science, or Engineering
- Able to evaluate the many pros and cons of each vendor, based on price, quality, speed of delivery, and other factors
- Good knowledge of safety stock, forecast, inventory control...
- Fluent English is a must; German and other Asian languages would be an advantage
