Senior Product Development Engineer (Experienced in Plastic Design)

Product Development
Develop new product platform and reuse of known platform technologies to create variant development activities. Will work closely with the Product Engineers, NPI Team, Manufacturing Engineering Team, Process Architects, Project Managers, Quality and Maintenance Department in Sonion Vietnam. Coordinate with Technical Product Management & R&D both in NL and PL on product design for process integration on manufacturability, assembly, inspection, etc.

Identify root cause of failures and issues identified from feedback inputs for product development and find creative design solutions to problems.
Generates models and drawings of products (parts and process) using CAD, GD&T and Coordinate Tolerancing Approach and other relevant documents.
Perform feasibility studies using theoretical models, simulations, and prototype verification on new products, including 3D printing and supplier sample.
Generate concepts based on ideas / requests. Eliminate concepts based on decision matrix and experiments.
Initiates parts and product design reviews including tolerance analysis and DFM (part itself) with toolshop team or suppliers.
Initiates product development specifications including material selection, processes, and components.
Responsible in the design of new developed products for the assigned project, particularly on mechanical design.
Initiates DFM on assembly parts with the project team.

Others:

Ensure compliance in with the industry’s safety standards.
Initiates in delivering the requirements defined by Milestone Deliverables, focusing on M0 to M3.

Education:: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical major or equivalent2.Professional experience: 5+ years working experience in Product design or equivalent experience
Knowledge of computer servicing:

AutoCAD, SolidWorks
Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)

Knowledge of foreign languages: Proficient in both verbal and writen English
