Senior Unix System Administrator

Job Purpose:
 Providing 1st line support for EU users alongside other IT members in the EU timezone.
 UNIX/Linux second level helpdesk including troubleshooting problems
 Setup and Maintenance of the firms UNIX/Linux infrastructure
Principal Accountabilities:
 Maintain internal user guides, guidance notes and technical documents
 1st Level Windows client/server support as required in exceptional cases
 On call/standby work during scheduled out of hours IT upgrades
 Management of all UNIX systems and services worldwide
 Trouble shoot and provide local support for end users
 Monitoring of Worldwide Linux systems for stability and performance
 Provide weekly reports to the Manager
 Mentoring of junior team members
 Behave in a professional and creditable manner; communicate issues through the Manager.
 Recommend and implement root cause fixes for common issues.

 Ability to run a project/task with minimal input from others.
 Performance on Project & task management
 Support performance / turnaround on resolution of critical incidents
 Can work with external/internal resources to achieve a goal.

Yêu cầu công việc

Excellent English speaking skills.
Desired knowledge of NetApp products (FAS 20xx) and ONTAP O/S
Ability to mentor and guide other team members on complex technical items.
Redhat RHCE certified is a benefit
Detailed knowledge of the following file systems: NFS v3/4,ext3, ext 4, zfs
Detailed knowledge of networking, including wifi, routers, switches, VPN.
Detailed knowledge of version control systems GIT/SVN/RCS
5- 7+ yrs Administration as UNIX Sys Admin, technical degree in IT
Desired knowledge of Windows client and server software
Desired knowledge of remote desktop solutions, Opentext ETX, NX client, VNC  Desired knowledge of Windows client and server software
Desired knowledge of Iptables/FirewallD, DNS/DHCP, Infoblox experience would be a benefit.
Desired knowledge of Solaris 8,10 SPARC in an enterprise environment
Detailed knowledge of Nagios or similar system monitoring products  Excellent knowledge of configuration management systems e.g. Puppet or similar
Excellent verbal and written communication skills– ability to convey technical information to non technical users successfully.Excellent knowledge of Redhat 7,8,9 and Ubuntu 14,16,18, or similar in an enterprise environment

Key Relationships:

Working closely with our CAD and methodology department to help provide key services
Interfacing with engineering directors to understand their department’s needs
