Software Engineer 2

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join the M365 Ecosystem Service Platform team. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining the backend services that process hundreds of millions requests per second in M365 Ecosystem. Those services are large scale, running across the globe, serving hundreds of millions of users every day. Our mission is to accelerate and grow a rich and trusted ecosystem for Microsoft 365, providing reliable, fast, scalable, and cost-efficient access to customer data shared data for the most critical Microsoft 365 workloads and scenarios.

• Design, develop, and maintain software components for the Substrate Ecosystem Service Platform team's services.


• Ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of the software components you develop.


• Participate in code reviews, provide, and receive constructive feedback to improve the overall quality of the team's work.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, and implement solutions that meet the needs of Microsoft 365 customers.


• Continuously learn and stay up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in the industry.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.


• 3+ years of working experience in software engineering.


• Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, Rust, or C++.


• Passionate on developing high quality code, and able to deliver clean and effective design to solve complex problems.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


• Result driven, reliable, and accountable.


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with web services, REST APIs, gRPC and related technologies.


• Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, is a plus.


• Familiarity with Docker and K8S is a plus.


• Familiarity with ASP .NET Core stack is a plus.


• Experience with large scale service development.
