SCOPE OF WORK
As a Software Engineer Intern – Front- End, you will play a key role in helping us architect and enhance the user- facing side of Edtronaut’s solutions. Working across various front- end projects (including dashboards, Mentor/Mentee portals, mentor/instructor modules, and integrated AI features like CV PowerUp, Course outline development, QuizGen, New product), you’ll be in the thick of:
Front- End Development
- Develop, maintain, and optimize user interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, or Angular), especially React + Next.js and best practices in HTML/CSS/JavaScript for efficient server- side rendering and routing.
- Collaborate with UI/UX teammates to bring wireframes, prototypes, and design specs to life with pixel- perfect attention to detail while leveraging Next.js features like API routes and SSR/SSG for improved performance.
Component & Code Management
- Follow version control processes (Git, GitHub) and assist in code reviews to maintain code quality and reliability.
- Build reusable components, ensuring consistency in user experience and brand identity across different Edtronaut products.
Integration & Testing
- Work with Back- End / API developers to integrate data seamlessly, ensuring end- to- end functionality and performance.
- Write basic unit/integration tests, debug issues, and iterate quickly based on feedback from QA, users, and product owners.
Collaboration & Agile Mindset
- Communicate effectively with cross- functional teams (Product, AI, Design) to ensure alignment on feature requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Take part in daily stand- ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives – sharing updates, highlighting challenges, and adapting priorities.
Performance Optimization & Innovation
- Monitor front- end performance, proactively recommend improvements to load times, responsiveness, and accessibility.
- Stay curious and experiment with emerging front- end trends, libraries, or frameworks that can accelerate our AI- driven workforce development vision.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We want a dedicated, curious, and tech- savvy front- end enthusiast who’s excited to be part of an AI & EdTech / Workforce Development start- up. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Eager to Learn: Understanding of or interest in building dashboards, data visualizations, AI- infused components, or any new front- end tools.
- Have a Growth Mindset: Constantly ready to pick up new front- end frameworks, adapt to changing requirements, and iterate on code.
- Communicate & Collaborate: Comfortable discussing ideas, clarifying requirements, and handling feedback from both technical and non- technical teammates.
- Front- End Enthusiast: Familiarity with React and a strong desire to learn Next.js. You understand the basics of SSR vs. CSR and why Next.js can improve site performance and SEO.
- Solid Fundamentals: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and the React ecosystem. Eagerness to explore Next.js or other front- end frameworks.
- Basic Skills in Web Dev: Familiar with at least one modern JS framework (React, Vue, or Angular), fundamentals of HTML/CSS, and version control.
- Are Detail- Oriented: Eye for visual polish and user- friendly interactions, ensuring each pixel and animation fosters a smooth user experience.
Basic Requirements
- Able to commit to a minimum of 4 days per week for a 3- month to 6- month internship.
- Bonus: Familiarity with REST APIs, testing frameworks (e.g., Jest), or a personal project portfolio showcasing your front- end passion.
- Some exposure to front- end technologies (React, Vue, Angular, or similar).
- Comfortable with Git/GitHub for code collaboration.
- Currently pursuing (or recently graduated with) a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
