Primary Purpose of Position:
Develop knowledge of suppliers capabilities, capacity and performance and contribute to the right placement decisions.
Ensure product quality, delivery and price objectives are met or exceeded.
Coordinate sourcing efforts with cross functional teams for the respective Dept/Category.
Support, coordinate and follow up sourcing activities with cross functional teams/suppliers.
Track T&A and WIP to ensure on- time order execution.
Support cost negotiations based on an understanding of component pricing.
Manage sourcing operational tasks including tools and information to ensure accurate and timely execution of orders .
Compilation of key reports and data.
Identify the right suppliers and factories to ensure capability and timely order execution.
Specific Duties and Accountabilities of the Job:
Manage T&A across locations to ensure timely execution of orders, proactively identifying potential product and production issues.
Ensure accurate and consistent execution of component costing.
Execute placements based on supplier capability, capacity, quality & delivery performance.
Ensure all supplier quotations and samples are completed in a timely manner for appropriate decision making.
Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects/tasks as needed or directed.
Maintain and update the performance data of each supplier on a regular basis. Monitor supplier performance.
Distribute product specs to the designated supplier. Understand and highlight product requirements of each program to relevant cross functional teams/Suppliers.
Involve Cross Functional Teams to achieve quality, price and delivery requirements.
Contribute towards relevant business reports and recaps to better understand and manage the business.
Key Skills:
Team player with ability to work with associates from different cultures.
Technical garment knowledge is required.
Able to manage multiple projects and timelines and keep them on track.
Understanding of garment specifications, components and construction. Basic production knowledge.
Good negotiation skills in working with suppliers on product and price.
Able to coordinate efforts of cross functional associates and work together in a positive and collaborative manner.
Excellent command of English and local language. Good communication skills.
Able to work under pressure.
Good problem solving skills.
Knowledge of suppliers and factories. Able to discern performance differences between various manufacturers.
Highly motivated with high sense of urgency and initiative. Takes ownership.
Proficient PC skills including MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
