Specialist - Laboratory and Technical Development, Polyurethanes BASF Vietnam Co., Ltd.

OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
• Run Performance Materials’ lab operation including material testing and formulation adjustment to offer quick service to customers and develop projects.
• Provide on time technical service, trouble shooting, short- term new application and new product development for customers; Maintain internal technical documents and activities in good shape; Support sales team to achieve target.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
Technical activities & knowhow documentation:
• Communicates and documents (internal and external) all processing technologies & trends
• Supports to build up regional technical capability and fosters expertise exchange between countries
• Collects market information (competitors, customers, regulations, etc.) & new ideas for R&D proposal
• Documents all technical related activities (trial report/trouble shooting report/lab working report etc)
• Documents all opportunities in salesforce
Laboratory & Testing
• Organizes laboratory operation as per Company Regulation.
• Conducts physical and/or chemical properties checking.
• Prepares chemicals and equipment to carry out testing.
• Works with customers’ operation personnel and own research personnel to establish a communication path for lab- related activities that enhance business development.
• Maintains and calibrates equipment to ensure lab equipment, instruments in good condition.
Technical supports:
• Provides necessary technical training/workshop/exchange with customers
• Follows up development of new customers, applications and relevant processing technologies
• Performs formulation modifications, evaluations and testing, based on customer needs
• Executes and achieves trial (new product introduction) and troubleshooting requests
Support for Quality, material, product analysis, registration and optimization scopes:
• Initiates New Article registration and ensures the compliance to formulation change process & BOM’s consistence
• Creates related technical documents (TDS, BOM, BI, Quality documents….)
• Supports to conduct root cause analysis of COPQ
• Defines product specifications for product developments/ modifications
• Supports the evaluation of alternative raw materials
Compliance to EHS requirements:
• Be responsible for the cleanness and safety of laboratories and workshop areas.
• Ensures the compliance to EHS requirements in labs & customer’s site

• Minimum 4 years experiences of Technical Service / Lab / QC
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Required Competencies: Demonstrate Customer Focus, Communicate Effectively, Collaborate for Achievement, Develop Self & Others.
• Basic Chinese communication skills is an added advantage.
• Relevant knowledge on physical and chemicals analysis / lab operation and technical field, preferably in PU manufacturing.
• Good English and computer skills (MS. Office).
