Supplier Development Engineer / Senior Supplier Development Engineer

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
- Support the Quality Assurance Team with Quality improvements activities
- Coach Lean principles and lead activities at suppliers’ factories, progress plan with strategic suppliers and share savings with them.
- Assess and identify key suppliers to partner with and drive supplier continuous improvement towards Cost Reduction, Quality Improvement and On Time Delivery.
- Develop production capacity where needed.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
*AUDITING
- Lead the technical audit process, understand the gap between where the factory is and where it needs to be to ensure production will be delivered right first time and on time.
- Lead the gap closing exercise on time for production to start in the right condition.
*MANUFACTURING PERFORMANCE
- Ensure through production trial runs that the production lines are ready to start mass production.
- Map out Critical to Process (CTP) from the input of Critical to Quality (CTQ)
- Execute the Manufacturing Process Qualification (MPQ)
- Follow up MPQ actions till close.
- Support the Quality Assurance Team with Quality improvements activities
- Execute MPQ activities and measure the results.
*CAPACITY BUILDING
- Based on the input and request from Supply Chain or Sourcing/Group Buyer, conduct the MPIC projects and/or Capacity Stress Test.
- Execute the Manufacturing Process Improvement for Capacity (MPIC)
- Follow up and execute MPIC projects in factories.
*TEAMWORK
- Participate in regular Diamond team meetings, listen to the business needs, update the MEX project status and share the deliveries.
Follow up on actions agreed during team meetings.

*Work Experience
- Previous experience in implementing lean principles into factories
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in hardgoods manufacturing process improvement
- Experience on in-line quality control and improvement
*Skills
- Hardgoods materials related transformation processes and surface finishing (metal, glass, ceramics, plastic, wood)

*Educational Qualification
- Certified LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus
- Qualified in a recognized engineering discipline
*Industrial / Product Knowledge
- Experience in hardgoods manufacturing (lighting, bathroom, outdoor, flooring, shelving)
- Experience in implementing lean principles into a factory environment
- Product and Production Quality assurance and improvement
*Languages
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese
*Trait
- Self-starter, team player, commercially minded, organized, methodical, excellent communication skills
*Travel Requirements
- Regular travel to factories in Vietnam and other countries within South East Asia Region is required
*KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Be accountable for on time delivery, inspection pass rate and customer complain due to production deviation for new and identified items.
Investigate quality issue in manufacturing processes, propose and implement preventive actions.
