What You’ll Do
As a Teen Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teens through personalized 1:1 mentoring sessions and collaborative work with their families. Your responsibilities will include:

Maintaining detailed, confidential records of mentoring sessions and teen progress.
Committing to mentoring students for the duration of their program (3–12 months).
Coordinating with the TeenCare team to align mentoring strategies with program objectives.
Conducting 1:1 mentoring sessions tailored to each teen’s unique challenges and goals.
Supporting client families with scheduling, communication, and program logistics.
Collaborating with parents to provide feedback and suggestions that enhance family dynamics through email and messaging.
Participating in scheduled team meetings and training sessions as required.
Building trusting relationships with teens to provide guidance, support, and encouragement.

We’re looking for empathetic, motivated individuals who are passionate about working with teens and helping them thrive. To succeed in this role, you should have:
Skills and Qualities:

Problem- solving and conflict- resolution abilities.
Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive topics.
Strong communication and active listening skills.
Exceptional emotional intelligence and the ability to connect authentically with teens.
Organizational and time- management skills for handling schedules and reporting.

Experience:

Previous experience in class management, youth mentoring, coaching, or counseling is highly valued.
Familiarity with family dynamics and culturally sensitive approaches is a bonus.
A background in education, psychology, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
