Trade Manager (TP Trade & LATAM)

The Trade Manager is responsible for shaping and executing ZIM’s commercial strategy in the assigned trade lane. This role leads efforts to optimize revenue, capacity utilization, and market positioning by integrating market intelligence, cross- functional collaboration, and strong customer engagement.
Trade Strategy & Planning
▪ Provide input into service deployment plans, vessel allocation, and new market entries.
▪ Develop and implement trade strategies aligned with ZIM’s global goals and regional opportunities.
▪ Analyze macroeconomic trends, geopolitical factors, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities for growth and trade optimization.
Capacity Management
▪ Drive pricing strategy and revenue optimization in coordination with the BU and pricing teams.
▪ Benchmark ZIM&039;s trade performance against competitors and market norms to improve strategic agility.
▪ Ensure weekly capacity utilization targets (100%) are met through cargo planning and high grading during peak periods.
▪ Monitor and adjust forecasts regularly based on market developments and booking patterns.
Market & Customer Intelligence
▪ Identify and mitigate risks related to market fluctuations, operational disruptions, and regulatory impacts.
▪ Track top customer performance and work with sales/commercial teams to address gaps or opportunities.
▪ Conduct deep market analysis and develop for trade performance and customer behavior.
Stakeholder Collaboration
▪ Work closely with Regional BU and internal department to ensure trade competitiveness in terms of cost structure and schedule integrity.
▪ Coordinate with cross functions within the organization for meeting the common objectives & KPIs
Leadership & Team Development
▪ Conduct weekly team meetings, review performance, and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
▪ Provide coaching, training, and professional development to team members to enhance their skills.
