This role is responsible for overseeing commercial physical gasoline and gasoil logistics operations, supporting other product desks as required in the future. The position involves managing all aspects of post- deal trading activity, ensuring smooth contract execution, and coordinating logistics and shipping operations. The operator provides commercial/market information to the trader, ensuring successful trade execution and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Operation Management:
• Monitor and ensure the timely and accurate execution of shipment processes.
• Calculate and assess operational requirements for cargo shipments.
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and buyers to ensure smooth execution of cargo operations.
Documentation and Coordination:
• Verify that documentation complies with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and buyers to gather and issue necessary documents post- shipment.
• Ensure all required documents, including shipping contracts, invoices, and customs paperwork, are completed accurately and submitted on time.
Shipment Paperwork and Loading:
• Prepare and process the necessary paperwork related to shipment operations, including contracts, shipping instructions, and relevant correspondence.
• Review and check loading documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Communication and Problem Solving:
• Act as the main point of contact between the company, suppliers, and buyers to resolve operational issues.
• Address and troubleshoot any discrepancies or delays in the shipment process, ensuring timely resolution.
Reporting and Market Analysis:
• Collect, analyze, and report operational data using tools like Bloomberg, Reuters, or Platts.
• Prepare and present regular reports to management on the status of shipments, market trends, and operational efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
• Participate in training programs and stay up- to- date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Identify opportunities for improving operational processes and efficiency.
Claim Handling and Post- Shipment Follow- up:
• Calculate and submit claims for demurrage, outturn loss, and other related claims following the completion of shipments.
• Work closely with suppliers, buyers, and relevant stakeholders to resolve any issues related to claims, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Monitor and follow up on any additional charges or discrepancies arising after shipment completion, ensuring that all claims are settled in a timely and accurate manner.
Other Duties:
• Assist in other operational areas as needed to support the overall success of the team and company.
• Perform any other tasks or duties related to the role, as assigned by the immediate supervisor or management.
