- To maintain the Training Library as part of the developmental and training tool.
- To initiate and implement regular training and motivational / recognition programs to motivate Departmental Trainers.
- To be hands- on and observe, review, and improve Training practices and procedures throughout the hotel departments.
- To develop a comprehensive training plan of all training activities for the year and ensure that it is reviewed quarterly.
- To ensure that the recommended quota of Departmental Trainers is trained and maintained for each department.
- To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Training Function following Wafaifo culture and hotel mission and vision.
- To advise the Talent Manager of new support training materials and software that would be beneficial to the hotel.
- To manage and maintain an up- to- date Training Resource Centre fully equipped with training documentation, training aids, and facilities.
- To work with the Departmental Trainers and ensure that they submit and conduct Monthly Departmental Training Schedule.
- To recommend the purchase of training equipment and training materials.
- To ensure that the Training Function is managed efficiently via proficient training software.
- To ensure the maximum utilization of Departmental Trainers for each Department.
- To review the progress of the Hotel’s Training Plan and make recommendations where necessary.
- To manage and update the training premises, equipment, and materials.
- To design, implement, and evaluate training and development programs for the hotel and report to Talent Manager.
- To schedule a regular meeting with respective Departmental Trainers and their Department Heads to discuss on training matters.
- To ensure all licenses for Talents and training areas.
- To ensure that all departments and talents adhere to all company, resort, and training programs.
- To assist all departments in preparing for the Talent Management Operations Review and champion the preparation for the Training Department.
- To plan, implement and monitor in conjunction with other members of the Training Department :
+ Fire Training
+ Hygiene Training
+ Health and Safety Training
+ Orientation Training
+ Foreign Language Training
+ Computer Training
- To keep Executive Committee Members and Department Heads informed of Trainees’ progress.
- To maintain complete, supported and computerized Training records of the hotel.
- To ensure that trainees are provided with professional counsel and learning opportunities, which best facilitate the learning process.
- To conduct regular audit and ensure that Departmental Operations & Training Manuals are current.
- To ensure that Internal communications through Talent Notice Boards, collateral, etc portray a professional image in line with the Talent Caring Culture.
- To fully support the Departmental Training Function in the Department assigned.
- To ensure timely submission of Quarterly Evaluations of the Trainees.
- To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules and regulations established in the Talent Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
- To constantly monitor the progress of individual trainees by meeting monthly with trainees and receiving feedback from Department Heads involved in the program and identifying possible future hires for the Talents database.
- To ensure that each Talent Guides of each department maximizes productivity and morale with their respective departments.
- To prepare and administer Training Programs for Key Management positions.
- To contribute to the Hotel image as “Employer of Choice” through establishing a leader in Training in the market place.
- To establish a professional network of Training Specialists from competitive Hotels and other Industries.
- To develop departmental trainers, assign training responsibilities, and meet with Departmental Trainers monthly.
- To respond to any changes in the Training function as dictated by the hotel.
- To assist with the monitoring of departmental Standards as defined in the “Departmental Operations Manual”.
- To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
- To maintain hotel standards of grooming and hygiene at all times.
- To submit monthly reporting package on a timely basis to the Talent Manager.
- To ensure that all Departmental Training Manuals are prepared and updated annually.
- To liaise with Schools / Colleges / Universities concerned and arrange the recruitment/selection of Industrial Release Students
- To administrate/coordinate both the “On and Off Job” components of Trainee Progress.
- To ensure that all talents provide a courteous and professional service at all times
- To ensure that each department plans and implements effective training programs for their talents.
- To handle guest and talents inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow- up with guests.
- To maintain close contact with local schools, hotel schools and universities.
- To conduct yearly performance appraisals and give talent regular feedback on their job performance.
- To develop, update, and organize a well- structured Orientation Program and to ensure that all New Hires are scheduled to attend the Hotel and Departmental Orientation Programs.
- To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Talent Manager.
- To ensure that all meetings are well planned, efficient and results oriented.
- To attend and contribute to all staff meetings Departmental and Hotel Training as scheduled and other related activities.
- To have a complete understanding of the Personnel and Training Section in the Operations Manual policies.
- To assist in the compilation of the various departments’ Operations & Training Manuals.
