Trưởng Phòng Thí Nghiệm (Laboratory Lead)

Reporting to Supply Chain Manager, the position holder’s main responsibilities are:
Product Quality and Assurance
• Responsible for routine QC by conducting tests on finished lubricants and raw materials as guided by Chevron product specifications.
• Coordinate the formula communication from lab to other CLVL teams (planning, supply, production and technology)
• Maintain timely communication with regional technology team to obtain instructions for problem solving or new product development.
• Participate in the annual lab qualification process of global Chevron Lubricants technology team.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance compliance for new batch sample tests and filling sample tests.
• Coordinate the timely testing on in-service oil samples as required by Technical team.
• Conduct hand-blends for new or revised formulas as instructed by Chevron’s GPIMS system.
Quality Control Process
• Conducts weekly reporting of first-time right batches, non-conformances, re-blend, work-off rates.
• Initiates corrective action reports for all non-conformances.
• Monitors and ensures reliability of quality control process by calibrating instruments, chemicals and equipment. Ensure the lab equipment are well maintained and calibrated.
• Records and reports batch/ in-process sample release times and other time taken for other laboratory activities such as calibrations, control sample checks, standardization, sample testing etc.
• Monitors and supervises QC activities by analyzing statistical process control data on Control samples and takes any necessary corrective measures as required.
• Conducts control sample checks for statistical analysis.
• Monitors batch release times to ensure maximum laboratory productivity.
Compliance of Laboratory Tests/ Quality System Maintenance
• Monitors compliance of laboratory tests with external requirements such as CITC and SABS Standardization program.
• Purchases laboratory chemicals and consumables as per prescribed methods.
• Ensures adherence to prescribed test procedures.
Equipment Management and Calibration
• Monitoring equipment list and testing instrument list with calibration and maintenance schedule
• Work with equipment manufacture to build up maintenance program to maintain testing equipment in the good working condition
• Built up calibration plan and conduct calibration follow to calibration plan to comply with Chevron requirement and Vietnam&039;s regulations requirement
Adherence to HES Policies and ISO Procedures
• Maintains the Laboratory Health and Safety Program
• Develop and maintain ISO 17025 for Chevron Hai Phong plant’s laboratory.
• Ensures compliance with Company’s HES principles with regard to safe working practices, hazardous chemical waste disposal.
Training and Development
• Trains and develops laboratory technicians.
• Assists in technical training of field staff e.g. Product Knowledge Course
• Works with staff to identify training and development needs.

Requirements:
- At least 1 year in management/supervisor position with people management skill
- Communication skills and interpersonal skills
- At least 3 years experience in testing or quality control. Lubricant testing experience is a plus.
- Has chemical or chemical engineering background.
- Ability to work independently and in a team under high pressure. Willing to work in shift
- Self-motivated and adaptability to new environment
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese
- Knowledgeable on laboratory testing equipment
