Wildlife Major Crime Case Officer

ENV is seeking a dedicated Wildlife Major Crime Case Officer to play a key role in advancing its mission. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills to lead and drive impactful conservation initiatives.
Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) was established in 2000 as Vietnam’s first non- governmental organization dedicated to wildlife conservation. ENV has led efforts to end Vietnam’s illegal wildlife trade by employing innovative strategies that strengthen wildlife protection laws and their enforcement, support law enforcement in addressing wildlife crime, and engage the public to reduce consumer demand and mobilize action for wildlife protection. ENV is committed to securing a better future for wildlife in Vietnam and globally.
Main Responsibilities
Research and Field checking
• Help plan and carry out research and field checking focused on major ivory, rhino horn, tiger, and pangolin trafficking cases.
Priority Case Checking
• Assume responsibility for managing, documenting, and tracking all priority cases including keeping up- to- date tracking on developments and progress on the Wildlife Crime Database, daily DIR, i2, and FIDB database
Law Enforcement Liaison
• Develop working relationships with representatives from key law enforcement agencies in order to facilitate information sharing and cooperation in combatting illegal wildlife trade
Reporting
• Produce acceptable quality English language reports on major investigations and findings as needed. Examples of reports include Incident Summaries, Findings, subject profiles, and i2 network maps
Support law enforcement
• Under the direction of the WCU team- leader, provide support to domestic law enforcement through sharing of information and findings relating to key developments in investigations or on specific cases.
Communications
• Actively keep the investigation team leader and manager apprised of all key developments and progress, through daily communications, and through formal reporting processes.
Other Duties
• Complete other duties and assignments as specified by the Investigation Team Leader and manager.
