SCOPE OF WORK
We are seeking a proactive and analytically strong Assistant Manager to take a dual role in overseeing both project construction cost control and corporate- level financial planning and analysis. This role supports cost governance across capital projects and centralized service departments, including HR, IT, Marketing, and Procurement. The candidate will act as a key finance business partner, contributing to strategic decisions, ensuring budget discipline, and driving value for money both in development projects and operational functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Duties may include but not limited to:
Construction Cost Control & Project Finance
Support audit, tax, and compliance processes for development expenditures.
Review contractor claims, VO justifications, and billing schedules.
Monitor actual vs. budget expenditure; maintain detailed cost logs and dashboards.
Prepare and update budgets for pre- construction, construction, and post- handover phases.
Work with project managers, QS, consultants, and legal/procurement teams.
Prepare monthly project cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
Corporate Management Reporting & Budgeting
Coordinate annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
Support strategic initiatives like digital transformation or sustainability efforts.
Lead monthly/quarterly management reporting across centralized departments.
Assist in investor and board- level reporting for both project and corporate matters.
Perform variance analysis and scenario planning for shared service costs.
Partner with function heads to align spending with KPIs and strategic objectives.
Governance & Compliance
Maintain documentation for project drawdowns, tax compliance, and cost allocation methodologies.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit readiness, and financial policies.
Drive cost efficiency in centralized functions and ensure coding accuracy.
Financial Control & Compliance
Manage internal and external audit requests relating to support functions.
Monitor central service costs (e.g., IT infrastructure, shared staff, group advertising) and recommend reallocation or efficiency actions.
Ensure strong financial governance, cost coding discipline, and policy compliance within corporate departments.
