As a business development manager, your role is to drive sales through personal business development efforts and sales force management by identifying new markets and customer leads, and pitching prospective customers. You are also responsible of ensuring that current customers are being adequately serviced through continuous follow ups.
Scope 1: Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, referrals, and networking
- Negotiate contracts with customers and carriers in accordance with company policies
- Analyze clients’ performance and trends to anticipate demands and needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and other stakeholders
- Coordinate with business unit manager/head of sales on sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share in the Saudi market
- Provide regular reports to business unit manager on sales performance and market trends
Scope 2: Team Progress
- Develop and deliver presentations to customers, highlighting GES services and solutions
- Hire sales executives with diverse portfolios to increase business unit performance
- Manage your team from hiring, training, and performance management, in accordance with local labor laws and internal HR guidance
- Manage and motivate the sales team to achieve their individual and team targets
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to support the professional development of the sales team
Scope 3: Operations Management
- Act as main point of contact for high level pricing and contracts problem solving
- Provide regular sales reports to business unit manager following predefined templates
- Follow closely with operations Import & Export teams on clients’ shipment status
- Follow the receivables of your clients and ensure that payments are done on time
- Continuously cooperate with credit department to ensure client agreement compliance
Job Requirements
BA in Business, preferably with focus on sales and marketing, MBA is a plus
Excellent command of English, any other language is a plus
8+ years experience working in the freight forwarding / logistics industry with the last five years at least within the sales function
Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities, Solid analytical, critical thinking, detail- orientation, and communication skills
Excellent knowledge of MS. Office (Excel, Word, ppt, and visio)
