* Operations
- Checks customer satisfaction regularly and reports information directly to the Assistant Manager or Manager.
- Observes wait staff and offers training and improvement where needed
- Checks and makes sure that all back of house areas are tidy and clean and all equipment is in good order including bar and upstairs stores
- Works closely with the assistant manager and supervisor to ensure a friendly and professional working culture and environment for all team members.
- Manages the restaurant decorative flowers and decorative items are in the correct places, fresh and suitable.
- Ensures all menus are correct and presentable.
- Ensures that all team members are fully up to date with the product knowledge and the restaurant food and beverage menu/ offerings.
- Ensures checklists are followed for the restaurant; opening & closing, cleaning service team, bar team and ordering operation stock.
- Ensures that all team members work in a supportive and flexible manner with each other.
- Monitors team members arrive on time and ready for their shifts according to staff rosters.
- Ensures that all team members are informed and knowledgeable of all promotions in the restaurant.
- Holds regular communication meetings and daily briefings
- Monitors social media sites (Google, Facebook, TripAdvisor) for guest reservations. Responds and adjusts the reservation book.
- Maintains daily end of shift reports.
- Follows systems in place to order & receive goods, store receipts, for finance departments monthly checks.
- Suggests change of beverage items: wine, cocktails, coffee, smoothie’s juices, etc. And recommends popular or sought after drinks.
- Ensures daily smooth restaurant operation and fully manages all aspects of the restaurant in the absence of the Manager/ Assistant Manager.
- Oversees the training of the Restaurant handbook.
- Manages restaurant music, ensures that music in the restaurant is always at appropriate levels.
* Customer Service
- Ensures that all team members deliver a high level of guest service at all times.
- Handles all customer issues and queries in a polite and efficient manner, ensuring problems are resolved properly and within reasonable time frames.
- Reports customer issues to the Manager/ Assistant Manager.
- Creates positive guest and team interactions, ensures good working relations using a professional and calm manner at all times.
- Maintains relationships with regular guests and acts as the face of the restaurant using an engaging manner.
- Works with the assistant manager and supervisors to train team members in guest service skills.
* Financial
- Ensures that the restaurant is operated in line with maximising profit while still delivering excellent service.
- Assists in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of equipment and other assets.
- Ensures that cash and credit cards are handled correctly and a method is in place to double check daily revenues
* Events
- Works with the kitchen to solve any issues for customised menus.
- Take reservation enquiries for events for parties such as birthdays, weddings, corporate events, dinner parties and other events.
- Conducts pre- event briefings with the team to ensure successful execution.
- Creates custom decoration and setups for events.
* Personnel
- Ensure all team members follow procedures relating to health, hygiene, safety and security
- Manages the punctuality and grooming of all team members, ensuring that they have the correct uniform and have a high level of personal appearance and hygiene.
