Cloud Platform Engineer/Architect Python/DevOps

ANZ Bank is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud- based infrastructure on GCP and AWS. You will play a crucial role in developing, automating, and fine tuning data platform provisioning, scaling, and maintenance tasks to enhance operational efficiency, performance, scalability, and cost- effectiveness.

Utilize containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
Manage network configurations, ensuring reliability, security, and performance
Design, implement, and manage cloud- based infrastructure on GCP and AWS
Implement and utilize monitoring and logging tools effectively
Work with a range of operating systems to ensure compatibility and efficiency
Utilize Python and other common programming languages for automation tasks
Build automations and frameworks to streamline deployment, scaling, and data analytics activities
Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continually improve our Platform & Infrastructure
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, applications, and networking
Ensure security is a top priority throughout all aspects of infrastructure and data platform activities
Work with APIs and scripting/frameworks for efficient operations
Develop, automate, and optimize data platform provisioning, scaling, and maintenance tasks
Implement CI/CD pipelines and adhere to DevOps principles
Provide high- quality content deliverables using appropriate document templates

ENGINEER LEVEL

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or similar
Strong understanding of DevOps Practices, CI/CD processes, container orchestration
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Java, Python, SQL, Bash.
Experience in Cloud platforms, preferably GCP.

*** Fundamentals:

Knowledge of data pipelines ETL/ELT fundamentals
Possess fundamentals in Linux operating systems
Good command of English verbal communication
Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD practices and standards
Proficiency in SQL fundamentals
From 4 years of experience
Understand Git source control fundamentals, branching, and release strategies

*** Tech Skills:

Knowledge of Istio Service Mesh and routing
Strong skills in Shell/Bash scripting
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including static analysis, composition analysis, vulnerability scanning, and secret management
Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IAC) implementation
Proficiency in SQL
DBT (Data Transformation Tool) for data processing
Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes (GKE & OpenShift)
Proficiency in Python and Golang programming languages
Understanding of CI/CD principles

Helm or Kustomize for Kubernetes management
Twistlock for container security

*** Qualifications:

Certification in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) would be highly advantageous
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering field

*** Good- to- have requirements:

Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automations
Azure AD knowledge
Frontend skills such as JavaScript, Node.js, and React
