Data Engineer Lead (DevOps)

❖ SCOPE OF WORK
As a Data Engineer Lead, you will play a pivotal role in Edtech team of VUS by working collaboratively with the engineering, product, and devops teams to ensure the effective validation, maintenance, and operation of our data platform.
In addition, you will lead the charge in building and expanding our data analytics team.
❖ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with various databases, including MySQL, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- Utilize experience with cloud data platforms, such as AWS or GCP.
- Develop a strategic mindset and the ability to transform data analysis into meaningful business recommendations.
- Work in tandem with the DevOps team to maintain and operate our highly available and scalable data platform.
- Apply knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and SQL.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering and product teams to validate data modules and requirements.
- Recruit and lead the data team to achieve its full potential.
- Utilize technical stacks, including modern data platform tools such as Google Cloud, Clickhouse, BigQuery, Airflow, Dataflow, DBT, Dataform, Kafka, ZetaSql, and more.
- Manage and optimize ETL processes for large datasets.

❖ TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Outstanding time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Proven experience in ETL processes involving large datasets.
- Experience with big streaming data platforms.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience with cloud data platforms like AWS or GCP.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering and analytics roles.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and SQL.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in a leadership role.
- Demonstrate proficiency in programming with Python/Golang.
- Familiarity with modern data platform tools, including BigQuery, Clickhouse, Airflow, Dataflow, DBT, Dataform, Kafka, ZetaSql, and more.
