JOB
PURPOSES:
The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Principal will be responsible for developing and overseeing environmental, social and corporate governance policies, procedures & implementation.
Ensure all employees are kept informed about the latest ESG regulations, policies, and internal processes through regular updates and educational initiatives. Perform any other tasks or responsibilities assigned and in line with the company’s ESG strategy and goals.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project Management
Develop and implement an Environmental Social Management system with aligned risk management
Develop ES execution roadmaps; sustainability (ESG) strategy.
Develop ESG Policy and supervise execution plans.
Project management: Budget management & team coordination
Facilitate & Coordinate project members and cross- team departments to implement ESG plans accordingly
Regulatory
Support the Management in driving the education, communication, training, and implementation of the ESMS across the company in all operational areas, including its associated business activities, contractor, supply chains, where relevant
Set up & monitor the effectiveness of implementation of the appropriate ESMS system. And provide for their updating in line with changes in laws, regulations and corporate directives.
Provide guidance and advice to the HR teams on the requirements of identifying and implementing local E&S related laws and regulations and monitor the compliance.
Review corporate activities and ensure compliance with E&S Policies, Management Plans and Procedures.
Key Drivers
Waste reduction & GHG mitigation: Oversee initiatives for waste reduction, reuse & recycling, alongside strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 & 2)
Reporting & Communications with Third parties, clients, stakeholders & public
Community initiatives: Manage CSR initiative & activities
Social initiatives: Coordinate with HR team/ PIC to facilitate implementation of Social- related action plans
4. Process/ Functions
Build operational workflow with vendors and internal teams regarding ESG matters & measurement
Provide training for employees, contractors and suppliers if needed
Learning & Growth
Participate in seminars/ events for updating knowledge and self- improvement
Take part in event for international ESG knowledge & network
