JOB SUMMARY
The Forecasting Team Leader is responsible for the day- to- day operations of the team. This position will set departmental direction as well as lead a strong team of Forecasting members. The Forecasting Team Leader will establish excellence in forecasting and integrate objectives, opportunities, and goals to enhance and increase business. This position will achieve a high level of professionalism and commitment by providing staff development, team building and training. The Forecasting Team Leader will drive process improvements, guide and coach team members and increase efficiencies to help maintain the best Forecasting team in the furniture industry.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader of Global Forecasting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of forecasting principles and best practices, as well as experience leading and managing teams.
The Forecasting Team Leader will train and mentor employees and assist others, coordinate and review work assignments of employees and provide support and direction to internal and external team members. This position is also responsible for solving problems and providing instruction on work procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
Identify planned drop items and/or groups; evaluate and make recommendation for best time frame for drop based upon remaining finished goods inventory, raw material inventory on hand and/or at vendor locations. Negotiate with Production, Purchasing and/or vendor regarding the final run dates and provide direction for expediting, deferring and/or cancelling orders when necessary and ensure proper inventory levels are available. Recommend excess inventory items to be added to the Hot Buys develop a plan and make recommendations for closing out remaining inventory.
Identify out- of- the- norm conditions on any product and communicate to management, make recommendations for solution.
Maintain and follow up whole product planning life cycle including product status, product forecasting, promotion readiness and inventory.
Evaluate inventory and the reliability of the supply chain flow for approval of Ad Notice, promotional requests and customer projections to ensure customer satisfaction and product availability.
Lead and guide the team to drive category forecast KPIs target.
Evaluate and monitor future orders versus forecast, make forecast changes when needed.
Interact and build relationships with key business partners to ensure accurate data and forecasting.
Drive continuous improvement and build employee road map.
Calculate and monitor forecast KPIs (Accuracy and Bias) against the targets, identify errors and provide solutions to improve forecasting performance.
Analyze, update, and monitor the forecast by SKU warehouse level for accuracy using a
