About the job
The successful candidate will support the growing team within Southeast Asia with a focus on developing resilience and climate adaptation strategies and undertaking climate change risk assessments for businesses, governments, and communities.
Our climate is changing, from increasing temperatures and shifting precipitation patterns, to rising sea levels and more frequent and severe weather events. Alongside this, the global economy is embarking on a low- carbon transition. At Royal HaskoningDHV, we help governments, businesses, and communities plan for, and adapt to these changes. We also support clients to navigate the uncertainties of a low- carbon transition, identifying climate- related risks, and developing strategies to build resilience to emerging shocks and stresses.
This is a six- month internship opportunity that is open to both full- time and part- time candidates.
What you do as an Intern
Your key responsibilities, with support from your team, may include the following:
Provide background research and report writing support
Support senior staff members in preparing climate and disaster resilience action plans and undertake climate and disaster risk assessments
Prepare and support workshop and stakeholder engagement activities under supervision
Assisting in the preparation of reports, proposals and other under supervision documentation
Research and analyse climate change and other environmental data

What you bring
Good writing ability
Good problem- solving skills
Strong motivation to learn and grow
Confident to communicate in English (verbal and written)
Degree or currently studying in one of the fields in sustainability, environment studies, climate change, urban planning, energy, ecology, geography, earth science, climate finance, sustainable finance or other related development fields
Good understanding of climate change, sustainability, decarbonization their challenges and opportunities
Good teamwork and interpersonal skill
