Background and principal duties:
As IT Business Analyst (BA), you are part of the ITBA team and your main duty is to gather business requirements from SPS affiliates in Europe, the US, and Asia. Those requirements are first critically analyzed and improved to maximize business value. Then you work with developers, testers, and project managers to estimate effort, cost, and timeline. Once approved, you transfer the requirements to the developers.
The Technology Department of SPS Vietnam delivers and maintains software projects in the area of document processing. Our software is used by SPS Vietnam and SPS affiliates in Europe, the US, and Asia to process millions of documents per year from our end customers from various industries (finance, insurance, transportation, logistics, consumer, etc.).
Responsibilities:
Looking from the process side, the main responsibilities are:
Gathering business requirements from SPS affiliates in Europe, the US, and Asia.
Working with developers, testers, and project managers to estimate effort, cost, and timeline. Reviewing those estimates with our colleagues from Europe, the US, and Asia.
Understanding and critically analyzing the requirements with the goal to simplify them and modify them so existing solutions can be reused as much as possible.
Once approved, handing over the requirements to developers and testers.
Good requirements are the foundation of the success of every project. Therefore, we expect you to:
Do your work as per quality and timeline expectations.
Ensure scope/requirements are crystal clear (both when received from business and transferred to team), fully aligned/agreed with all stakeholders, and kept fully controlled (documented, tracked, not forgetting scope or allowing scope creep).
Not just to pass on requirements but fully understand the purpose (what does the customer want to achieve) and based on that propose and discuss improvements.
Ensure scope/requirements are critically reviewed in order to increase business benefit while reducing complexity and effort to implement and maintain the software.
Hold demo sessions, explain to stakeholders how we work, and support handover meetings once the software is implemented.
Be the contact point for internal teams and customers if there are scope issues/ misunderstandings. Take the lead to explain, clarify and get everyone aligned on what the scope/requirements are.
