Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Engineer to join our team and drive the development of our core infrastructure. You will lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable, high- performance backend systems that underpin our AI- powered products. The ideal candidate is a technical leader with a proven track record of building complex systems, mentoring teams, and fostering innovation in a fast- paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Stay abreast of industry trends in backend technologies, cloud computing, and AI infrastructure, and champion improvements and innovations.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, lead incident response, and drive root- cause analysis and preventive measures.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of mission- critical backend systems, APIs, and microservices architectures.
Participate in strategic planning, technology evaluations, and architectural decisions to evolve our backend ecosystem.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in software engineering.
Collaborate with cross- functional teams, including frontend engineers, AI/ML specialists, product managers, and executives, to define technical roadmaps and deliver high- impact features.
Implement and enforce security protocols, compliance standards, and best practices for data protection and system integrity.
Optimize systems for performance, cost- efficiency, and resilience, including handling large- scale data processing and integration with AI models.
Architect scalable, reliable, and secure solutions to support high- traffic applications and AI workloads.

Qualifications:

Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, graph databases).
Hands- on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
Expertise in multiple programming languages such as Go, Java, etc., with a focus on building enterprise- grade applications.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, etc., including serverless architectures and managed services.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non- technical stakeholders.
Exceptional problem- solving abilities, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.
7+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
Proficiency in version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
Strong leadership skills, with experience in team management, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative culture.

Preferred Skills (Optional):

Expertise in message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS) and caching systems (Redis, Memcached).
Knowledge of DevOps practices, monitoring tools (Prometheus, ELK Stack, Grafana Stack), and automated testing frameworks.
Familiarity with AI/ML integration, such as serving models via APIs or handling large datasets.
Understanding of agile methodologies, software design patterns, and performance tuning in high- load environments.
