Unified Configuration Management (UCM) is a critical service at Grab for centrally managing configurations for backend services. It offers a standardized approach to handle configurations across diverse services and supports a template structure and hierarchical configuration, reducing configuration duplication across environments. UCM&039;s design allows developers to build and maintain configurations with minimal effort.
Get to know the Role:
As a Lead Backend Engineer on the UCM team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a seamless, robust, and efficient system. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring that all APIs, databases, and integrations with other systems function smoothly and efficiently. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the team toward achieving high performance and reliability standards.
The day- to- day activities:
Collect and analyze user feedback, identify areas for improvement, and prioritize feature development accordingly.
Mentor and guide a team of backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and ensure portal stability and performance.
Implement and enforce best practices for web development, ensuring high- quality code and adherence to performance, security, and accessibility standards.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of key components of the UCM system, including the SDK, CI/CD pipelines, daemons, and UCM UI.
