Machinery Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of technicians and fabricators, providing guidance on complex builds, machining, and welding tasks, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Supplier Coordination: Work with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of components, materials, and machining/welding supplies.
Collaboration: Work closely with the design and engineering teams to review technical drawings, provide feedback on manufacturability, and resolve any technical issues during the build process.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve machine- building, machining, and weld fabrication processes, identifying areas for efficiency and quality enhancement.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all machines undergo thorough testing and meet industry standards, including ISO 9001 compliance.
Technical Expertise: Lead the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic systems, machining, and weld fabrication processes. Servo electric troubleshooting will be supported by the mechatronic expert.
Project Leadership: Oversee the building, assembly, machining, and fabrication of aluminum extrusion bending machines, ensuring projects meet design specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of machine builds, machining setups, fabrication processes, including technical notes, component lists, and project timelines.

Required Skills & Experience:

Health & Safety: Knowledge of machine safety protocols, welding safety, and health & safety regulations.
Machining: Proficient in CNC and manual machining, including milling, turning, and drilling, with the ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
Weld Fabrication: Hands- on experience with weld fabrication processes, including MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques.
Team Leadership: Proven ability to manage and lead technical teams in a manufacturing environment, including machinists and fabricators.
Servo Electric Systems: Knowledge of servo motors, drives, and control systems (with troubleshooting supported by mechatronic expert).
Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve machine issues.
Hydraulic Systems: Extensive experience in designing, building, and troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
Technical Aptitude: Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Pneumatic Systems: Expertise in the setup and maintenance of pneumatic controls and actuators.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 systems is highly desirable.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Experience in the aluminum bending industry or related field would be advantageous.
At least 5 years of experience in a machine- building, machining, and fabrication management role.
Hands- on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, servo electric systems, machining, and welding.
