Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime. Role involves developing maintenance schedules, managing the maintenance team and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in a food manufacturing or processing environment. Support the projects team for equipment installation and infrastructure modifications.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
• Supervise and perform maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and ensure timely repairs.
• Maintain an inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
Compliance and Safety
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulations, including those specific to the food industry (e.g., GMP, HACCP).
• Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and facilities.
Team Leadership
• Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress to meet operational goals.
• Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring high levels of performance and productivity.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for skill development.
Process Improvement
• Collaborate with other departments to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement predictive maintenance technologies to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Analyze maintenance processes and identify opportunities for improvement to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Budget and Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and costs.
• Provide regular reports to senior management on maintenance metrics and issues
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
