Position overview
We are seeking proactive, strategic and communicative individuals to join our Material Management team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials required for our product development while managing communication with suppliers regarding quality issues. You will closely collaborate with cross- functional teams to maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor delivery schedules, and proactively address any quality concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate regularly with suppliers to discuss material quality issues, resolve problems, and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.
Manage all bulk fabric coordination with Mills post- development: Greige booking, bulk lot approval, testing, and delivering KPIs “On- time delivery” and “Right—first- time” materials.
Mitigate material & trim issues with suppliers & factories.
Develop and maintain material delivery schedules to meet production timelines and minimize delays.
Coordinate with the sustainability team on RSL.
Collaborate with product development, design, and quality control teams to understand material requirements and ensure alignment with production needs.
Analyze material data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Lead discussions with internal and external stakeholders for material quality/color achievability as production ramps up.
Build strong relationships with suppliers to foster trust, improve delivery performance, and support innovation in materials development.
Monitor material costs and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost- effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point and data analysis tools.
Proven track record of improving supplier performance and managing delivery schedules.
Strong understanding of materials specifications and quality standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation & presentations in both English and local language.
Bachelor&039;s degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field.
From 3- 8 years of experience in materials, supplier management, preferably in the footwear industry. Candidates who have worked with Nike, Adidas, New Balance, or major sportwear companies are welcomed.
Fluent in Japanese or English spoken and written; Chinese (Mandarin) or Korean is a plus.
Excellent negotiation, and problem- solving skills.
