ROLE OVERVIEW
The Merchandiser focuses on developing innovative solutions for custom OEM projects. This role is essential in driving new business growth and enhancing sales with existing customers through effective collaboration and strategic planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Anticipate potential issues during the RFQ stages, taking initiative to understand production processes and share insights with team members to mitigate risks.
Collaborate with the sales & marketing team in full circle from development stage to sampling stage and to production stage.
Strive to provide outstanding customer experiences and workable solutions for all projects.
Prepare quotes for OEM projects while supporting the merchandising team with regular sourcing when required. Price negotiation with factories.
Analyze projects, materials, and production methods during the Pre- Sampling and Pre- Production stages to identify opportunities for service enhancement and cost reduction.
Identify and source suppliers, manufacturers who meet the product specification requests, while expanding and maintaining a strong network of industry contacts in Vietnam / China.
Conduct thorough audits of projects from the sampling stage, recommending improvements in materials, models, production methods, and upselling strategies.
Work with preferred suppliers to build strong partnerships, build up long- term relationships with suppliers/ manufacturers to strengthen ODM brand awareness on the production market.
Identify and propose upgrades or modifications to products and services that align with customer needs, advising the sales team on suggestions of new trending on production markets, new changes on production techniques…
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
> 2+ years of experience in merchandising, supply chain management, or a similar role. Familiarity with OEM projects is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem- solving abilities with business acumen.
Commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and service.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Cost analysis / Price negotiation skill.
Must be fluent in English (both verbal and written).
Proficient in project management and sourcing techniques.
Strong network in the manufacturing field (mainly production in gift items, POS, apparel, accessories…).Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and industry contacts.
