Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance, feedback, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Collaborate with other department leads (Product Design, Electrical Engineering, Software, Manufacturing) to align on product development goals and strategies.
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and ensure the successful delivery of mechanical designs from concept to production.
Product Design and Development:
Work closely with industrial designers to ensure the mechanical design aligns with the overall product vision and user experience.
Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance, ensuring products can be produced at scale without compromising quality.
Drive the end- to- end mechanical engineering process, from initial concept development, CAD modeling, and prototyping, to testing and final production.
Oversee the mechanical design of smart home appliances, ensuring products meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability requirements.
Innovation and Problem- Solving:
Lead failure analysis and troubleshooting efforts, quickly identifying and resolving issues to maintain project momentum.
Stay current with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques to continuously improve product designs.
Identify and implement innovative solutions to engineering challenges, pushing the boundaries of what&039;s possible in smart home technology.
Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate engineering concepts and decisions effectively to non- technical stakeholders, including executives and product managers.
Serve as the primary mechanical engineering liaison with external partners, including suppliers, manufacturers, and testing labs.
Ensure all mechanical engineering documentation is accurate, up- to- date, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
Excellent problem- solving skills and a creative approach to engineering challenges.
Experience in working in a fast- paced, startup environment is a plus.
Experience with the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to cross- functional teams.
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes (injection molding, die- casting, etc.), and DFM principles.
2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on consumer electronics or smart home appliances.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
