RESPONSIBILITIES:
Material Testing: Conducting tests on raw materials such as wood veneers, adhesives, and additives to ensure they meet specifications for strength, moisture content, and other relevant properties.
Process Monitoring: Implementing systems to monitor every stage of the manufacturing process, from sourcing raw materials to final product assembly. This ensures consistency and identifies any deviations from standards early on.
Quality Control: Implementing measures to identify and rectify defects during production, such as knots, voids, delamination, and uneven thickness. This may involve visual inspections, manual measurements, and automated quality control processes.
Training and Education: Providing training to employees involved in plywood manufacturing to ensure they understand quality standards, testing procedures, and the importance of their role in maintaining product quality.
Documentation and Record- Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of production processes, test results, and any corrective actions taken. This documentation is essential for traceability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, government regulations, and safety requirements applicable to plywood manufacturing.
Supplier Quality Management: Collaborating with suppliers to ensure consistent quality of raw materials and components, including conducting audits, establishing quality agreements, and providing feedback for improvement. Overall, effective quality assurance in plywood manufacturing requires a systematic approach encompassing rigorous testing, process control, documentation, and a commitment to continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.
Customer Feedback Analysis: Monitoring customer feedback and complaints to identify recurring issues and areas for improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, such as those set by the American Plywood Association (APA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and EN 13986, is crucial.
Statistical Process Control (SPC): Proficiency in statistical process control techniques to monitor and improve manufacturing processes is valuable for ensuring consistent product quality
Computer Skills: Proficiency in using quality management software, statistical analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications is typically required.
Knowledge of Plywood Manufacturing Processes: In- depth understanding of plywood manufacturing processes, including wood veneer preparation, drying, gluing, pressing, and finishing, is necessary to effectively oversee quality assurance procedures.
Problem- Solving Skills: The ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes of quality problems, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions is essential. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is necessary to identify defects and deviations from quality standards during production processes.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: The candidate should have a proactive approach to quality improvement, constantly seeking ways to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Wood science, Manufacturing, or a related field is usually required. A master&039;s degree in quality management or a related discipline can be beneficial.

Quality Management Systems (QMS): Familiarity with quality management systems. This candidate should be able to develop and implement QMS procedures tailored to plywood manufacturing.
Experience: Significant experience in plywood manufacturing or related wood products manufacturing is essential. This may include experience in quality control/quality assurance for BIRCH Product (>09 mm). Typically, candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience.
