We’re hiring our foundational Senior AI Automation Engineer to pioneer how we apply AI to our internal operations. This is a unique opportunity to build a new, high- impact function from the ground up, defining our internal AI roadmap and improving how we operate. Your mission will be to automate work across the company, dramatically increasing our productivity and improving the quality of our decision- making, operational efficiency, and internal processes. You will work closely with other leaders—from Product and Technology to Customer Support, Marketing, and Security as well as other back office functions—to identify high- impact problems and build an ecosystem of AI- powered solutions, continually assessing new potential as frontier model capabilities constantly improve.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and rapidly prototype internal tools and systems that automate work and increase productivity. Examples include automating customer support ticket analysis, personalizing marketing content, or streamlining financial reconciliation.
Develop architectural choices AI is making and be ready to personally debug complex systems across the full stack when necessary. Act as a high- trust owner of systems that may handle sensitive customer or financial data.
Stay updated on the latest external models, APIs, and tools. Evaluate their potential, manage vendor relationships and budgets, and lead their integration into our operations.
Define the roadmap for internal AI automation at Travala.com.
Provide consultation to department heads across the business to understand pain points, identify high- impact opportunities, and ensure the tools you build are adopted and deliver obvious value.

Nice to have: Solid experience in full- stack development, with deep proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js).
Demonstrated success in partnering with and influencing leaders and non- technical stakeholders across various departments.
High level of ownership and accountability, especially with sensitive or business- critical data.
A deep curiosity and commitment to staying on the cutting edge of the AI industry, with the ability to translate new developments into practical business applications.
Proven, hands- on experience building and deploying LLM- powered tools and applications using external APIs.
Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects, navigate shifting priorities in a fast- paced environment, and deliver tangible results.
Motivated by solving real- world business problems and creating obvious value for others.
A strong ability to design simple, scalable, and maintainable systems, making pragmatic choices between different architectures, libraries, and technologies.
