Senior AI Engineer

Akila is looking for a Senior AI Engineer who will be engaged into machine learning algorithm and theoretical frontier research which includes machine learning, deep learning and data mining. The candidate will be working across multiple teams and functions for developing cutting edge, creative and advanced AI applications, and processes. You should be comfortable working in a fast- moving startup environment where speed, hard work and fresh thinking are critical to success.

Contribute to the team&039;s knowledge sharing, fostering an environment that values innovative thinking and the exploration of new ideas in Machine Learning.
Continuously monitor and evaluate model performance, making necessary adjustments and improvements.
Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to both technical and non- technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Implement agile, hands- on approaches in project execution, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to evolving business needs.
Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models and generative AI to enhance product features and capabilities.
Conduct thorough data analysis to extract meaningful insights and patterns from related datasets.
Stay up- to- date with the latest advancements in ML/AI, and ESG technologies.
Solve technical issues and help shape an overarching strategy.
Collaborate closely with team members within the organization (i.e. AI scientists, Product, QA, Backend Engineer, Leadership, etc.).
Implement scalable and efficient ML pipelines for processing data from data lake and/or data warehouse.

Experience in applied ML with a proven record of successful ML projects with vital individual contribution.
Hands- on experience with optimization frameworks (e.g., RayTune, Optuna or Hyperopt).
Team oriented, details oriented. Adaptable, resilient, and positive attitude.
Strong background in some popular ML/AI frameworks and Python libraries.
Experience of MLOps and platform building experience is preferred.
Deep understanding of data structure, performance optimization, and algorithms.
Bachelor’s or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
Proven Experience with SQL/NoSQL DBs, Celery, Kafka, Elasticsearch and other Big Data technologies.
Proficiency in Python, and familiarity with Linux.
Experience with containerized environments and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).
Minimum 5 years of experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, and Software Engineering.
Strong communication, collaboration, problem- solving, and analytical skills.
Good English communication.
