Senior Purchasing Specialist (Retail Pharmacy Store Chain)

We are looking for a Senior Purchaser with retail pharmacy experience, strong product knowledge, and an interest in commercial operations. Responsibilities include managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, ensuring timely stock for stores, and providing data insights to support purchasing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Order Management

Place purchase orders based on approved assortment plans and demand forecasts.
Work with internal teams to resolve delivery delays or order discrepancies.
Follow up closely with suppliers to ensure timely and complete delivery.

Supplier Coordination

Collaborate with the Merchandising Manager on product priorities and supply risks.
Maintain daily communication with suppliers on stock status, timelines, and basic issues.

Product Knowledge Support

Assist in optimizing product selection and substitutions when needed.
Use your pharmacy knowledge to assess product suitability, make suggestions on alternatives, and flag issues related to product use or movement.

nventory Awareness

Help ensure the right products are available at the right time for customers.
Monitor stock availability and support the team in managing slow- moving or fast- selling items.

Data & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions.
Support the merchandising team with regular reports on order performance and supplier reliability.
Analyze purchase and sales data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Detail- oriented and clear communication with a collaborative attitude.
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or related fields.
3+ years of experience in Retail Pharmacy, Retail, or CVS.
Strong interest in transitioning to business or commercial operations.
Familiar with purchasing software, ERP, AI tools, or inventory management systems.
Ability to analyze data and extract useful insights (Excel, basic reporting tools).
Able to contribute ideas for process improvement and operational efficiency.
