JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Quality Engineer provides quality engineering services to cross- functional project teams, including New Product Development, Product Support, and Value Engineering. A Project Leader leads project team members, including Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing. The primary duties are to lead and direct the quality activities of project teams to successfully meet Project Quality Objectives and project goals, including Time- To- Market, Cost, and Performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Reliability Functions – New Product Development:
• Develop and execute test procedures to validate product specifications and ensure Quality and Reliability readiness.
• Proactively seek out quality improvements for new and existing products.
• Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) during the product development cycle.
Quality Functions- New Product Development:
• Work with the global quality teams to develop QC mitigation strategies for high- risk specifications.
• Coordinate quality planning activities such as auditing, inspection, and control plans (incoming, in- process, and outgoing) that drive user- need CTQ requirements through product specifications and into manufacturing processes.
• Develop robust systems and define standard operating procedures.
• Able to call, lead, and conduct global, cross- functional team members with the following participants: New Product Development engineering, internal/external operations/suppliers, quality, and supply chain.
• Collaborate with U.S. and Asian- based manufacturing and supplier representatives to ensure operational readiness of new product launches.
Quality Functions – Systems & Process:
• Utilize Microsoft 365 and PowerBI reporting for Visual MDI and/or Develop QDA system to show metrics such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), visual MDI, and OEE.
• Design and run DOE to gain a deeper understanding of all manufacturing processes and design parameters, including Slitting, Heat Treatment, Spring Forming, Painting, Lacquering, Extrusion, Printing, Spool Sub- Assembly, Tape Measure Assembly, Levels Assembly, Milling, etc.
Quality Functions – Metrology:
• Redefine MSOP (Measuring Standard Operating Procedure) and DMP (Dimensional Measurement Plan) to be utilized at both suppliers and in- house manufacturing in VN
• Gain knowledge of GD&T, CMM Programming, and Calypso 2023 to teach and support the VN HT Metrology Lab and PT Metrology Lab.
• Work with Milwaukee Corporate Metrology teams to develop in- house metrology standard operating procedures and implement best practices
