Software Developer Server, Back-End, DevOps, Unity

About The Role
Bootloader Studio is shipping real- time, emotion- aware experiences in Unity. We need a Backend- first engineer who will own our cloud services while lending a hand with DevOps automation and the odd IT tweak. If wearing a couple of hats in a fast- moving startup sounds like fun, let’s talk.

Duties & Responsibilities

Core Development & Integration

● Participate in full software development life cycle, from feasibility analysis to implementation and deployment.
● Design, implement and maintain microservices.
● Integrate third- party APIs and internal services in a secure and scalable way.
● Contribute to the technical design and documentation of new solutions.
● Troubleshoot system issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
DevOps & Infrastructure
● Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to manage, provision, and scale production environments efficiently.
● Containerization & Orchestration: Oversee container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to ensure reliable deployment and scaling of microservices.
● CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop, implement, and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
● Performance Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions to optimize system performance and ensure high availability. Familiar with logging and tracking solutions like SigNoz or Grafana.
● Collaboration: Work closely with cross- functional teams to integrate DevOps best practices, streamline deployments, and improve operational resilience.
IT Duties
● System Troubleshooting: Provide support for hardware and software issues affecting development and production environments.
● Monitoring & Maintenance: Assist in the monitoring of system health, coordinating with IT support to minimize downtime.
● Infrastructure & Support: Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the proper configuration, maintenance, and security of internal systems and networks.
● Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to IT policies and security guidelines across server operations and data management.

Qualifications & Skills
● Programming Languages: Python, Go, C, JavaScript, SQL, TypeScript, Unix Shell
● Database Technologies: Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis. Experience with
columnar database (Snowflake, Clickhouse) is a plus.
● API Frameworks: Experience with REST & RPC API frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask,
Protocol Buffer)
● Containerization: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes
● Development Practices: Test- driven development (TDD) and domain- driven design
● Cloud Providers: AWS, Google Cloud
(DDD)
● CI/CD & Tooling: Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
● Workflow: Experience with Agile development (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
● Self- driven and proactive mindset
● Clear communication, especially in async and remote settings
● Ability to balance technical quality with pragmatic delivery
Nice To Have
● Working experiences with Unity, C are a strong plus.
● Familiar with CI/CD shipping Android and IOS Applications from Unity
